March Comes in Like a Lion follows Rei Kiriyama, who is a young shogi prodigy. He struggles with isolation and the pressure of his career. After moving to Tokyo to escape a difficult home life, he meets and befriends the Kawamoto sisters who help him out. As Rei grapples with his emotional challenges, he begins to open up and find support from those around him.
