Introduction
Hobbelisk consists of a worldwide community of media and hobby enthusiasts from every age and background. Because of this, it is very important to us that users can enjoy using the website and express themselves within reason to share and collaborate ideas, reviews, and comments about the many media on the site. Additionally, we want to ensure that users are protected to the best of our abilities from harassment, harmful behavior, copyright infringement, and other such issues. All users of Hobbelisk are expected to know and respect these rules, which will be enforced without bias and evenly in every situation that has been brought to our attention, regardless of the membership status of the user who has been reported.
General Behavior and Respect Towards Others
As Hobbelisk is a large and growing community, welcoming users from all around the world, we urge you to be respectful of each other’s differences, backgrounds, and cultures. In addition to this, we ask you to not steal other people’s ideas, comments, reviews, or materials without their explicit permission or properly crediting them for their work. This applies to all sections of Hobbelisk. Any kind of malicious spamming, griefing, and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and can result in actions taken towards users who are exhibiting such behavior. Users can report such activity at any time and punishments will be administered on a case by case basis.
Commentary
We are aware that certain media can be controversial or lead to in-depth discussions over certain topics. For this, we ask the users to refrain from posting aggressive, disrespectful, or abusive comments. These include but are not limited to comments which may be racist, sexist, ableist, bigoted, against a philosophy or religion, or that promote any kind of hateful remarks, hate propaganda, or any comments that would directly attack or insult other users needlessly.
In addition to the above, any personal disagreements, arguments, or personal matters should remain in private communications or reported if the situation warrants it. Hobbelisk discourages accusations or other similar volatile situations and encourages users to report or block any users who may be causing such disruptions. You also acknowledge and agree to not spam or flood review, comments, discussions, or private chat sessions. If you feel that you have been a target of harassment or other disrespectful behavior, or if a reported user is still actively engaging in disrespectful behavior, please reach out to the Hobbelisk team using the Contact Us section. The Hobbelisk team will directly intervene in cases that are deemed severe enough. Situations that are less severe should be dealt with through using the tools that have been made available to registered users.
Quality
Hobbelisk hosts media of many categories and backgrounds. Therefore, it is expected from users that reviews, discussions, or any similar conversations around the media are of good quality and can be helpful to others. Some comments, reviews, or discussions may not meet these quality standards and may face action from moderators or administrators. If so, we ask you to please accept this decision maturely and gracefully. If you feel like your comment, review, or discussion may have been wrongfully reported, please submit an inquiry using the Contact Us section so our team can look into the issue. Please do not involve other users unnecessarily in reviews, comments, or discussions for such issues.
Mature Content
We understand that media with mature content may be on the site and that there may be discussions surrounding such content. In these cases, you acknowledge and agree that you will properly mark mature content with NSFW tags or the NSFW toggle where applicable. For certain cases or media, if it is deemed inappropriate or is violating Hobbelisk’s Terms of Service, causing harm to others or showing such intent, or other similar situations, Hobbelisk reserves the right to take appropriate measures against such mature content or the users who have violated the terms regarding this content at any time. Users can report such content to the Hobbelisk moderators and administrators at any time. Posting on Forums and Discussions While engaging in Hobbelisk’s forums and posts, everything within the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and this Etiquette Policy must be complied to. Rules that are specific to forums and discussions include but are not limited to:
(I) All forums and discussions should be relevant to the title or topic of the thread or discussion. Therefore, all discussions within such threads should remain on the appropriate topic or topics.
(II) Comments or discussions whether they be negative or positive in nature should remain constructive, civil, and promote healthy and worthwhile dialogues.
(III) When posting in forums or in discussions and comments, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the rules stipulated in the Terms of Service and the Etiquette Policy at all times. You understand that Hobbelisk moderators or administrators may take action against posts or comments that may be deemed as violating any of the mentioned rules in the aforementioned documents.
Please remember that your intent may not always be understood as you are communicating via text on the internet. Certain jokes or sarcasm may not be understood and taken the wrong way. To avoid confusion please use common sense and appropriate discretion when interacting with other users. Threads, discussions, or comments that may be deemed inappropriate will be locked or closed for further discussion.
Profile Pictures
As Hobbelisk hosts users from different ages, we ask that your profile picture not contain the following:
(I) Nudity,
(II) Obscene, racist, discriminatory, offensive logotypes, propaganda or any such images; or,
(III) Impersonates other users or people.
Other profile pictures which may not respect the guidelines outlined may be subject to moderator action.
Site Abuse, Exploits, and Vulnerabilities
Hobbelisk does not tolerate any attempts to disrupt or exploit the navigability, layout, or general usability of the site. Actions that disrupt the community from accessing, reviewing, commenting, adding entries, or communicating with others are considered site abuse. No warnings will be issued for these kinds of violations. Violators will be banned immediately if they are discovered to be disrupting, exploiting, or abusing the site. Any virtual currency or Hobbelisk currency may not be used to interfere with the operations of the site and cannot be used to purchase accounts, features, or other similar items, or bribe moderators, administrators, or other users for any reason.
Appeals and Inquiries
Any appeals or inquiries should be directed to the Hobbelisk Contact Us section in the footer or to support@hobbelisk.com where a member of the Hobbelisk team will review the appeal or inquiry. Do not use the forums, comments, or personal emails of the staff members to alert them of such concerns. You may not receive a proper response and will be redirected to bring the issue to the attention of the moderators or to use the aforementioned tools. Any petitions or other forms of public outcry thereof are discouraged. These will not affect reviews of staff actions and may be detrimental to the case presented.
Changes to the Etiquette Policy and Code of Conduct
As Hobbelisk continues to grow and new situations arise, we may find it necessary to make modifications or expand upon the existing policies within this document at our own discretion, with little or no notification, and at any time, in which such changes and updates may be enforced in full over behavior or submissions that previously existed.
Changes to the etiquette policy and code of conduct will be announced through our notification system, blog, or via email.
